The BQ769x0 family of analog front-end (AFE) devices is a game-changer for next-generation, high-power systems. From light electric vehicles to uninterruptible power supplies, these robust AFEs offer a complete pack monitoring and protection solution. The BQ769x0 is designed to be energy-efficient, with sub-blocks that can be individually enabled or disabled to manage chip current consumption. Additionally, a SHIP mode allows for ultra-low power state operation, making these AFEs ideal for power-sensitive applications. With the ability to support up to 15-series cells or typical 48-V packs, the BQ76940 is a versatile option for managing a variety of battery chemistries, including Li-ion and Li-iron phosphate. Through I2C communication, a host controller can utilize the BQ769x0 to implement crucial battery pack management functions, such as monitoring cell voltages, pack current, and pack temperatures, as well as controlling charge/discharge FETs and balancing. With integrated A/D converters ensuring digital readouts of critical system parameters, and TI’s manufacturing process handling calibration, the BQ769x0 family offers a reliable and efficient solution for high-power systems
