IIS3DWBTR General Description

Introducing the IIS3DWBTR, a sophisticated system-in-package featuring a 3-axis digital vibration sensor designed to operate within an ultra-wide and flat frequency range while maintaining low noise levels. This sensor excels in terms of stability, sensitivity, and capability to function within an extended temperature range (up to +105 °C), making it the sensor of choice for vibration monitoring in industrial applications. Its wider bandwidth, low power consumption, and digital output, combined with embedded features such as FIFO and interrupts, make it particularly well-suited for use in battery-operated industrial wireless sensor nodes. Offering a selectable full-scale acceleration range of ±2/±4/±8/±16 g and the ability to measure accelerations with a bandwidth of up to 6 kHz at an output data rate of 26.7 kHz, the IIS3DWBTR delivers impressive performance. Additionally, a 3 kB FIFO buffer is integrated into the device to ensure minimal data loss and reduce the need for intervention by the host processor. Notably, the device features a self-test capability for checking its functionality in the final application. Housed in a 14-lead plastic land grid array (LGA) package, the IIS3DWBTR is guaranteed to operate within a wide temperature range from -40 °C to +105 °C. Manufactured using ST’s advanced micromachining process for the sensing elements and CMOS technology for the embedded IC interfaces, this sensor module attests to its reliability and high-performance capabilities, catering to the automotive, industrial, and consumer markets
