L-SV92PP-M68-DT General Description

The SV92PP chip set using Agere’s third-generationsilicon DAA is a soft modem solution for PCI applications.The chip set works with Agere’s standard softmodem drivers and supports V.92 and lower rates. The CSP1040 device is Agere’s third-generation siliconDAA and reduces the number of componentsand board area required to implement a full-featuredmodem, while achieving compliance with world-wideregulatory requirements. A low-profile digital transformerprovides the communications link betweenthe CSP1040 and SV92PP devices. This digital linkalso provides power to the CSP1040, allowing fulloperation on marginal phone lines. The CSP1040 includes hardware support for detectingline in use status, over-current, polarity reversals,caller ID, ringing without the need for additionalexternal circuitry. This allows for full-featured modemdesigns without increased bill-of-materials or boardspace.
