LM25116MH General Description

The LM25116MH is a versatile synchronous buck controller designed for step-down regulator applications in high voltage or widely varying input supply scenarios. Its current mode control methodology, based on emulated current ramp, offers inherent line feedforward, cycle-by-cycle current limiting, and easy loop compensation. This makes it suitable for controlling very small duty cycles necessary in high input voltage applications, while reducing noise sensitivity of the pulse-width modulation circuit. With a programmable operating frequency ranging from 50 kHz to 1 MHz, the LM25116MH drives external high-side and low-side NMOS power switches with adaptive dead-time control. Additionally, its user-selectable diode emulation mode enables discontinuous mode operation, enhancing efficiency at light load conditions. The device also features a low quiescent current shutdown, high voltage bias regulator, automatic switch-over to external bias for improved efficiency, thermal shutdown, frequency synchronization, cycle-by-cycle current limit, and adjustable line undervoltage lockout. For effective thermal dissipation, it is available in a power enhanced 20-pin HTSSOP package with an exposed die attach pad. With all these features, the LM25116MH offers a comprehensive solution for demanding step-down regulator applications
