TL16C550DPFB General Description

The TL16C550DPFB is a high-performance asynchronous communications element (ACE) that offers speed and operating voltage upgrades from previous models, such as the TL16C450. In addition to functioning as a direct upgrade to the TL16C450, the TL16C550DPFB can also operate in alternate FIFO mode, relieving the CPU of excessive software overhead by buffering received and transmitted characters. It includes complete modem control capability, a programmable baud rate generator, and a selectable autoflow control feature, making it a versatile choice for a wide range of applications
