First, the 3G core transmission network is becoming more and more obvious with its business development, IP-based and large granularity. This directly drives the transfer of long-distance trunk transmission network from SDH technology to IP over WDM technology. Second, precisely because ASON uses OXC-based all-optical switching, the optical signals for straight-through services are routed at the optical layer, which minimizes the signal delay and signal jitter brought about by IP routers, which is conducive to ensuring QoS.

 

At the same time, with the development of 3G mobile services, the operator's network facilities must also be changed. First of all, the number of European pulse code modulation interface (E1) and synchronous transmission module (STM) 1/16, etc. will be greatly increased, especially in the aggregation, resource sharing and interoperability with other operators' network gateway/core nodes.
