AFE4410YZR General Description

The AFE4410YZR represents a groundbreaking analog front-end solution specifically engineered for optical biosensing applications, particularly heart rate monitoring (HRM). This cutting-edge device supports up to four switching LEDs and three photodiodes, offering unparalleled flexibility in sensor configurations. The signal processing chain of the AFE features a transimpedance amplifier (TIA) for efficient conversion of photodiode signals into voltage, as well as an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) for precise digitization. The ADC data is stored in a 128-sample FIFO block, accessible through both I2C and SPI interfaces for seamless data retrieval. Furthermore, the AFE integrates an LED driver with 8-bit current control, ensuring accurate illumination for precise biosensing applications. Its high dynamic range transmit-and-receive circuitry provides up to 100 dB of dynamic range, enabling accurate heart rate measurement. The device also operates in an ultra-low power (ULP) mode, activated via the ENABLE_ULP register bit, ensuring minimal power consumption and extended battery life for portable applications
