Meet the 82V3285AEQG, an integrated, single-chip solution crafted to serve as the Synchronous Equipment Timing Source for Stratum 2, 3E, 3, SMC, 4E, and 4 clocks in SONET/SDH equipment, DWDM, and Wireless base stations. This versatile device is designed to cater to a wide array of applications, including GSM, 3G, DSL concentrator, Router, and Access Network. It offers support for three types of input clock sources, namely recovered clock from STM-N or OC-n, PDH network synchronization timing, and external synchronization reference timing. Compliant with ITU-T G.783 and Telcordia GR-253-CORE standards, the device features T0 and T4 paths, providing high quality and highly configurable paths for system clock synchronization within a SONET/SDH network. Operating in Free-Run, Locked, and Holdover modes, the device ensures stable performance regardless of operating conditions or silicon process variations. Additionally, it includes programmable DPLL bandwidths and damping factors that cover all SONET/SDH clock synchronization requirements. With a high stable input required for the master clock and the ability to be calibrated within ±741 ppm, the device guarantees accurate and reliable timing. Its microprocessor interface modes further enhance its usability, making it applicable for Master/Slave applications and providing system protection against single chip failure
